Dogs on the Beach
MCDOG (Mendocino Coast Dog Owners Group) has sucessfully organized the Noyo Beach Off-Leash Dog Area (see the article: City's first off-leash dog park opens) and now (2008) the fenced dog park area at Green Memorial Field, at the intersection of Maple and Lincoln Streets.
Having a place to run on the beach is a great area asset and attraction for dog-people. To contribute or ask questions, email glb AT mcn DOT org.
To go to the park -- turn east on the north end of the Noyo Bridge (left coming south, right going north) on N. Harbor Drive and follow the road down the steep hill into the harbor, then under the bridge and to the beach. After visiting the beach, stop at Nemo's Fishmarket on N. Harbor Drive where you and your dog can sit on the deck and have lunch (phone 707-964-1600.)
